Biography
Ryszard Grzyb studied in 1976-79 at the Wroclaw State Higher School of Fine Arts in the studio of Z. Karpinski. Later he moved to the Painting Department of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts to the studio of R. Ziemski, where he met W. Pawlak and other members of "Gruppa", which they founded together in 1982. At first he painted "papers" - compositions made on cardboard with tempera and gouache. Together with R. Wozniak, they went on a scholarship to Berlin, where R. Grzyb continued painting with sharp colors of flat "papers." At the end of the 1980s, the artist changed his style, dealing more with oil painting. He also engaged in advertising graphics. He is the recipient of the Jan Cybis Award for 2010.
