(Estr. T. 18). The first collection of laws of the Kingdom of Poland by historian and lawyer Jan Herburt (1524-1577), secretary to King Sigismund Augustus. The 1st edition was published in the printing house of Lazarus Andrysovic in 1563. In this edition, additions by Stan were included at the end on two pages. Skrziszowski. It contains a list of statutes of the Kingdom of Poland and crown privileges. Extremely valuable work, functioning (admittedly not formally) as a collection of Polish law until the publication of "Volumina Legum". state of preservation: 6 pages in reprod. on period paper (title page and last 5 pages), a few other pages with unsealed underlinings and repairs without major damage to the text; traces of unsealed dampstaining and browning. Binding repaired: board, pigskin with embossing and inscription on the face: "Statuta...", losses of leather repaired, contemporary plywood, two buckles preserved and repaired. Good condition. Rare. 1729.
