The stone is set in an oval conical basket with the inscription "UNITED STATES NAVY", flanked by five-pointed stars. The ring depicts an anchor on a compass dial, on the opposite side a floral decoration on the same background. Inside the ring embossed: "C ART CARVED 14 KT" and "Eugene May".
Eugene May (28.06.1902-27.08.1989) graduated from the United States Naval Academy. During World War II, he participated in seven major campaigns in the South and Central Pacific. He retired from the Navy after 30 years of service with the rank of RADM (Rear Admiral).
