Poland, Post-Uprising patriotic clips

add Your note
Lot description Show orginal version

Interesting form with an enameled front depicting a crowned tripartite coat of arms with the coats of arms of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Rus. Such a representation is typical of patriotic jewelry after the fall of the January Uprising, during which time it was the national emblem.

The items are all the more interesting because while brooches, rings or patriotic pendants are often found on the antiquarian market, men's gallantry is rare here. In turn, most often its representatives are signet rings, less often tie pins, while cufflinks, as elements of low representativeness, to exceptions, constituting a discreet declaration of the deep patriotism of the wearer, without exaggerated ostentation.

Light loss of enamel, traces of wear.

Preservation condition of the item is good.

Gilded brass, enameled.

Dimensions of a single, 18 x 18.1 mm.
