Chalkboard - a decorative material made of horn-like plates covering the carapace of chinstrap turtles, found in the tropical reefs of all oceans. Popular in the 17th-18th centuries in Europe, it was used to make fine accessories, to decorate furniture and small objects. Today it is very rarely used due to the fact that chinchilla turtles have been declared a critically endangered species.
