Aleksander Turek (1933-2016)
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he received his diploma in the studio of Prof. Eugeniusz Eibisch in 1961. He continued teaching there until 1979. He was also a student of the outstanding graphic artist Jozef Pakulski.
A community activist and animator of artistic culture. In 1974 he was awarded the Academy of Fine Arts Rector's Prize for teaching. In 1984 he was awarded the Silver Cross of Merit.
He participated in many exhibitions abroad, including in: Spain, Canada, Uruguay, Brazil, Sweden, Yugoslavia, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Romania, Italy, Chile, New Zealand, Austria, Algeria, India, Hungary and the former Soviet Union.
