The end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century.Size:length - 22.3 cm; width - 17.3 cm, height - 1.4 cm.In the central part, the image of the Mother of God is enclosed in an eight-pointed star formed of two quadrangles - green and red (the color of the unburned bush in which God appeared to Moses and the flame that enveloped him). Moreover, the very symbol of the eight-pointed star is connected with the mystery of the Virgin: in receiving the Divine Child into her womb, she "did not burn," she did not die physically, as the words of the biblical book of Exodus warn: "man cannot see Me (God) and remain alive." Surrounding the eight-pointed star are the faces of angels representing the sudden troubles against which Our Lady protects: from fires and arson of houses; from the flames of the Lord's wrath and the sudden troubles caused by his anger; from the wrath of authorities and others; from the fiery passion caused by prodigal demons to save the family. On either side are images of the four Saints, corresponding to each of the situations in which they suffered or helped for the Glory of God during their lives. The image of the Blessed Virgin Mary with Child in terms of placement and proportions is closest to the title icon of the Soloveitchik monastery from the 16th century, made on a board. The wooden base is made of a single piece, smoothly planed with a planer, varnished in reverse. The pin is missing. Drawn fields. A gesso type adhesive base is visible on the chips. The icon was originally painted with tempeh (egg yolk-based paint), but oil paint was used during the restoration. On the back in the upper part there are three holes for fixing the icon.Missing: mandatory religious attributes, the signature of the master. This is a type of handicraft house icon - talisman.
