Biography
Graphic artist and illustrator. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, where he defended his diploma in 1967 in the Copperplate Studio of Professor Mieczyslaw Wejman. He is currently a professor at the Graphic Arts Department of his alma mater, and runs the Drawing Studio. In 1984-1987, he served as vice-dean. During the 1987-1990 term, he served as dean of the Faculty of Graphic Arts. For several years, he has held the position of head of the Drawing and Painting Department at the Faculty of Graphic Arts. He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. He is the recipient of many awards, including: Medal of Honor at the International Biennial of Contemporary Exlibris in Malbork (1971), Medal of Honor at the International Biennial of Small Graphic Form in Lodz (1979), Medal at the International Biennial of Graphic Arts in Frechen, Germany (1980), Special Prize at the International Printmaking Competition in Biella, Italy (1993), Regulation Prize at the Polish Printmaking Triennial in Katowice (1994), Regulation Prize at the International Mezzotint 95 Triennial in Gdansk (1995).
