The first (and for decades the only published) volume of "Songs of Janusz" by Wincenty Pol. A collection of patriotic poems dedicated to the November Uprising.
At the beginning a bipartite coat of arms of the Crown and Lithuania with the maxim "God save Poland". On the plate a portrait of Casimir Pulaski in steel engraving.

HARDCOVER FULL CONTEMPORARY LEATHER, SPINE WITH RAISED SCROLLS, GILT AND GILT EMBOSSING, STRIKING ORNAMENT IN MIRROR OF COVERS. LININGS MADE OF HAND-DYED MARBLED PAPER, PAGE EDGES GILT MARBLED WITH THE SAME PATTERN. THE INTERIORS OF THE COVERS FINISHED WITH A DECORATIVE SCRAWL.
BDB condition/ rusty spots and discoloration in places, A NICE piece.
