STASYS EIDRIGIEVICIUS - Born in 1949 in Lithuania. From 1968 to 1973
he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vilnius. He moved to Poland in 1980.
At first he created miniatures, exlibrises and illustrations, later he created posters, masks,
pastels, oils, tempera and ink drawings. He is involved in stage design, creates installations, objects,
performances.
He is the recipient of international awards and prizes in various areas of his work
works, including the Grand Prix of the International Illustrator Competition in Barcelona
(1986), Gold Hugon at the Chicago International Poster Festival (1987), Silver
Medal of the 2nd International Graphic Arts Exhibition in New York (1988), Grand Prix of the 1st
International Biennial of Illustration in Belgrade (1990) and Bratislava (1991), Gold
Medal of the Society of Illustrators in New York and the Grand Prix at the International
Poster Salon in Paris (1993), Gold Medal of the 4th International Poster Triennial
in Toyama (Japan, 1994) and the Polish Poster Biennale in Katowice (1999), as well as
Lithuanian national decorations and awards (Order of Gediminas, 2000; State Award in the
Art, 2001; Honored by the Academy of Fine Arts in Vilnius with the title of.
Doctor Honoris Causa, 2009); awarded the Silver Medal "Gloria Artis" by the
Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, 2010; Honorary Member of the Russian
Academy of Arts, 2012; Honored with the Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the
Republic of Poland, 2019.
He has exhibited in the United States, Switzerland, Japan, Great Britain, Spain,
France, Germany and many other countries.
