Prince Poniatowski, at a gallop on his horse, jumps into the current of the Elster River, his death was echoed across Europe, and his figure grew into a Legend.Victor-Jean Vincent Adam (1801 Paris - 1867 Viroflay)French painter. From 1814 to 1818 he studied at the Paris Academy of Fine Arts, and a year later his works were exhibited at the Paris Salon. The dominant theme of Adam's work is battle scenes, which he painted, among other things, for the Museum of Versailles. After 1844 he concentrated on creating lithographs.A recurring motif in Victor Adam's works were Polish units during the Napoleonic wars, and very popular in Poland and abroad prints with depictions of Prince Józef Poniatowski.
