Biography
From 1891 to 1899, he studied at the Kraków School of Fine Arts under F. Cynka, I. Jabłoński, W. Łuszczkiewicz, and L. Wyczółkowski. He supplemented his artistic education in Ažbe’s studio in Munich (1903). From 1904 to 1907, he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under K. Pochwalski, in Paris at the Académie Willi (1908–12), and in 1922 at the Académie Collarossi. He traveled to Italy, London, and Budapest. He was a member of, among others, the Society of Friends of Fine Arts (TPSP) in Kraków and the Viennese “Secession.” From 1918 to 1927, he served as vice president of the TPSP in Kraków. The main subjects of his works were portraits, genre scenes, cityscapes—primarily of Munich and Paris—and still lifes featuring flowers.
