The work comes from the publication "Pour Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler. Ouvrage établi sous la direction de Werner Spies", Hatje, Stuttgart, 1965. One of two works created by Picasso on the occasion of the 80th birthday of his friend Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, who as a dealer was one of the greatest promoters of Cubism, representing the interests of Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, among others.
