American artist, creator of pop art. Known mainly for creating simple, serial compositions using everyday objects and consumer products, depicted in bright colors. He similarly portrayed pop culture icons and public figures, including Brigitte Bardot, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Marlon Brando, Elizabeth Taylor.
