Studied at the Faculty of Decorative Arts and Artistic Industry at the State Industrial School in Lviv from 1927 to 1932. He was a member of the Association of Lviv Graphic Artists (from 1935), the Society of Graphic Artists in Krakow (from 1936), the Professional Union of Polish Artists in Lviv (from 1937) and ZPAP (from 1945). He was active in Lviv, from 1946 in Gliwice. He was the recipient of art awards of the City of Gliwice in 1950, 1951, 1970. He was involved in painting (easel and wall painting), drawing, printmaking (woodcut, linocut, lithography, monotype) and applied arts (posters, advertising graphics), exhibitions. Together with his wife, Zofia Nowakowska-Acedańska, also a graphic designer, they co-organized Polish artistic life in Upper Silesia after World War II.
