Zdzislaw Beksinski made computer photomontages between 1999 and 2004, when he became fascinated with the possibilities of the computer in photo processing and graphic work. At first, the artist referred directly to his analog photomontages from the 1950s, treating the matter of photos in a similar way in digital processing. However, quickly, taking advantage of the possibilities of the new medium, he changed the nature of the work from a basic collage effect to multiplied and altered works with visual effects, using his own and other people's photos. The main motifs of these works are magical, unreal landscapes, heads, human and animal figures and distorted objects. For the most part, the photomontages are close to the visions realized in oil paintings, painting of the fantastic period, in which the atmosphere is built in metaphysical spaces, made credible by realistic chiaroscuro.
Zdzislaw Beksinski's computer photomontages are printed from the author's original digital record in 29.7 by 21 cm (A4) format. The works in this collection have no specific edition and are dry-stamped.
