Zbigniew Lutomski - Polish graphic artist, painter and educator, born in 1934 in Grodno. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, where he defended his diploma in 1960. After graduation, he worked as a pedagogue, has been running a woodcut studio since 1965, and has been a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan and Krakow since 1996. From 1985 to 1991 he served as commissioner of the International Biennial of Printmaking and the International Triennial of Printmaking in Cracow. He has chaired the juries of national and international exhibitions many times. He is the recipient of numerous awards and prizes, including: at the Biennale and Triennial of Graphics in Cracow (1962, 1966, 1970, 1986, 1991), at the National Graphics Competitions and Exhibitions in Lodz (1969, 1973, 1975, 1979, 1981, 1987, 1989), at the National Graphic Competition named after J. Gielniak in Jelenia Góra (1979, 1983, 1997, 2003), at the Quadriennale of Woodcuts in Olsztyn (1987, 1991, 1995, 1999), as well as 2nd prize at the International Woodcut Exhibition in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia (1968), the Tokyo Mayor's Award at the Tokyo Biennale of Graphic Arts (1968), an award at the Portland International Graphics Exhibition (1997) and many others. He was a member of the international association Xylon in Switzerland, and is an honorary member of the International Biographical Centre in Cambridge.
