Etching form. 34.2x25 on ark. 41x31.3 cm. Work from the portfolio "Zabytki Krakowa w miedziorytach W. Zakrzewskiego" (ca 1935; Grońska 632), hand-signed in the lower margin and on the board under the composition "Ryt. Zakrzewski." Graphic in paper passe-partout. Very good condition.
Władysław Zakrzewski (1903-1944) - painter and printmaker, creator of ex-librises. Studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Wladyslaw Jarocki and Jozef Pankiewicz, and later graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Jan Wojnarski. Since 1932, he has dealt exclusively with printmaking, practicing metal techniques, the most common subjects of which were the architecture of Polish cities, seaside and Silesian landscapes.
