Wladyslaw Zakrzewski b. March 4, 1903 in Pakość, died October 25, 1944 in Cracow - Polish painter and graphic artist.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Władysław Jarocki and Jozef Pankiewicz in 1922-1924, then in Paris in 1926-1930 in private academies. He also traveled to Constantinople via Hungary, Romania, Yugoslavia, Greece and Italy for further studies. At the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, he studied printmaking under Jan Wojnarski from 1932 to 1937, and practiced techniques such as copperplate, etching and aquatint. Favorite themes of his works were the architecture of Polish cities, Silesian and seaside landscapes. He was the author of many ex-librises.
He was killed by a German patrol in Cracow on October 25, 1944.
Very good state of preservation: slight soiling on the bottom edge.
