Etching form. 25,8x21,7 cm. Work from the portfolio "Zabytki Krakowa w miedziorytach W. Zakrzewskiego" (ca. 1935; Grońska 632), signed on the plate under the composition "Ryt. Zakrzewski." Graphic with cardboard passe-partout, in wooden frame, behind glass. Yellowed paper, frame abrasions.
Wladyslaw Zakrzewski (1903-1944) - painter and printmaker, creator of ex-librises. Studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Wladyslaw Jarocki and Jozef Pankiewicz, and later graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Jan Wojnarski. Since 1932, he has dealt exclusively with printmaking, practicing metal techniques, the most common subjects of which were the architecture of Polish cities, seaside and Silesian landscapes.
