Attended secondary and real school in Stanislawow. He studied art from 1907 to 1912 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Wojciech Weiss and Jacek Malczewski, as well as under Jozef Pankiewicz, Julian Fałat and Teodor Axentowicz. He completed his studies with a specialty in pedagogy. In 1912 and 1913 he stayed in Paris. Upon his return to Poland, he settled in Sokal, where he took a position as a substitute teacher of drawing, Polish language and mathematics at the state gymnasium. In 1918 the gymnasium was named after Antoni Malczewski. In 1945-51 he worked as a drawing teacher at the St. Konarski State Gymnasium and High School in Mielec. In 1952, he settled in Zamosc and began working as a drawing teacher at the State High School of Fine Arts. In 1958, he retired from teaching. In 1959 he returned to Mielec, where, as a pensioner, he taught drawing at the local high school, and where he died in 1963. In addition to his work as an educator, Wladyslaw Zurawski was involved in artistic creation. Beginning in 1928, he took up mainly woodcuts, most often with folklore themes. His works show some influence of the style of Wladyslaw Skoczylas. He often published his woodcuts in the form of cycles forming albums.
