Biography
In 1922-24 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Wladyslaw Jarocki and Jozef Pankiewicz, and in 1926-10 in Paris at private painting academies. Then to deepen his studies he traveled to Constantinople, also visiting Hungary, Romania, Yugoslavia, Greece and Italy. In 1932-37 he studied printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Jan Wojnarski. Initially, he was involved in painting, and from 1932 exclusively in printmaking. He cultivated single and multi-color metal techniques. The most common theme of his works was the architecture of Polish cities, seaside and Silesian landscapes. He made a number of thematic series: Teka Śląska, Teka Morska, Warsaw, Lviv, Bielsko, Zaolzie, Krakow; he is also the author of many ex-librises.
