Original drawing, illustration design. Zdzislaw Witwicki (1921-2019) - one of the doyens of Polish illustration. Studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, where he earned a degree in graphic design (1955). From 1952 to 1986 he was an art editor at the Nasza Księgarnia publishing house. He also worked with the National Publishing Agency, the Movement and the People's Publishing Cooperative. He is the creator of illustrations for more than 80 books for children. He gained the greatest fame as the creator of graphic images of the dwarf Halabala and Elemelka the sparrow. He also created illustrations and covers for magazines "Miś", "Płomyczek", "Płomyk". (...) He participated in more than 250 national and international exhibitions (including Bologna, Prague, Bratislava and London), and received numerous awards for his work. His illustrations are in the collections of galleries and museums in Poland and abroad (including Germany, Italy and Japan).
