Biography
She studied in Warsaw: in 1924-1930 at the Conservatory of Music in the piano class, at the same time at the School of Fine Arts, in the studio of Tadeusz Pruszkowski. She often participated in plein-air painting workshops in Kazimierz Dolny; during one of them, in 1926, an amateur film was made with her participation, directed by Pruszkowski, titled "The Lucky Hanger". "Happy Hanging or California in Poland". She had her first solo exhibition as early as 1930 in Paris, later in Genoa (1931), Brussels (1935 - awarded), Boston, Chicago, Toronto, Paris (1937 - Grand Prix in decorative arts), Rapperswill, New York, Stockholm, London (1939), among others. She also participated in national exhibitions. In 1934-1936, she studied stage design at the Department of Directing Art at the State Institute of Theater Art. She designed sets for plays and operas, and worked with the most prominent directors, including Leon Schiller, Aleksander Zelwerowicz, Edmund Wierciński, and later Bohdan Korzeniewski. She was also the author of excellent set designs for opera and ballet performances at the Warsaw Opera. After 1978, she devoted herself entirely to painting. Her rich artistic output was repeatedly presented in individual and group exhibitions both at home and abroad in the post-war period, including London, Prague, Venice, Nancy, Nice, Milan and East Germany, Moscow, Leningrad, Oslo, Neuchtel. Teresa Roszkowska died tragically, murdered in her villa in Saska Kepa.
