Józef Pieniążek - born March 1, 1888 in Pychowice, died May 25, 1953 in Kraków - Polish painter, graphic artist and teacher.
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1908-1913 under Leon Wyczółkowski, Wojciech Weiss and Jozef Pankiewicz. As a teacher he worked in Lviv in the interwar period, teaching drawing. He was a member of the literary and visual arts group Czartak, founded by Emil Zegadłowicz. He participated in many exhibitions between 1925 and 1938 and settled in Cracow after the war. He specialized in etching, aquatint with landscape and architectural themes. He published several graphic volumes. He created watercolors depicting the folk culture of Podhale, Spisz, Żywiec region or Orawa. Decorated with the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
Very good condition: frame with slight losses.
