Biography
Lives and works in Granada. He studied at the University of Granada and the School of Visual Arts in New York. His work is based on using photographic images as a starting point, which he then deforms and transforms by adding cartoonish elements - shoes, hands, balloons or characters. In this way, he undermines the traditional language of representation, giving it a new and subversive form. Instead of creating realistic and clear compositions, Pomet breaks up the photographic structure of the image, introducing hyperbolic and humorous touches that make his works a field of clashing different styles and visual conventions.
His works have been presented in solo exhibitions at prestigious institutions such as the Powerlong Museum in Shanghai (2023) and The Baker Museum in Naples, Florida (2016). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including the Juxtapoz x Superflat project curated by Takashi Murakami and Evan Prico, presented at Pivot Art + Culture in Seattle in 2016.
Pomet's works are in many public and private collections around the world, including those of the Spanish Ministry of Culture, the IVAM Institute of Contemporary Art in Valencia, Colección SOLO in Spain, the Spanish Academy in Rome, the Luciano Benetton Collection in Italy, as well as the Hall Art Foundation, The Patchett Collection and the Beth Rudin De Woody Collection in the United States.
