OLESZCZYŃSKI Antoni [1794-1879] Polish artist, printmaker, author of intaglio and copperplate engravings. From 1817-1824 he studied at the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, from 1825 in Paris in the studio of J.B.Regnault and J.T. Richomme, from 1829 in Florence . He was commissioned by the United States government to design and engrave banknotes. he did a lot of engraving work for the publications of Chodko and Grabowski Pologne illustrée.
