Marian Gleb Kratochwil (Kosiv in the Hutsul region 1906-1997 London) - Polish painter and graphic artist, one of the most famous artists in exile.
He studied drawing with Stanislaw Batowski, and in 1932 began painting his first oil paintings. In 1936 he joined the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, and participated in exhibitions in Lviv in 1938-1939. In 1940 he stayed in Scotland, where he created a series of prints entitled. "War." From 1947 he lived in London, with which he was associated until the end of his life. Kratochwil's works can be found in renowned museum collections around the world, including the National Museum in Krakow, the Jagiellonian Library in Krakow, the National Museum in Warsaw, the British Museum in London and the National Gallery of Modern Art in Scotland.
