Artist of Hungarian origin, painter and graphic artist, studied from 1902-1910 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Florian Cynk, Leon Wyczółkowski and Józef Mehoffer, as well as Jan Stanisławski. Also at the same time he took up philosophical studies at the Jagiellonian University. He supplemented his education during his European travels, in Paris, Dresden, Leipzig, Berlin, Vienna and during his stay in Italy. He was friends with the writer Emil Zegadłowicz, for whom he designed illustrations. Since 1907, he was involved in the theory and practice of teaching drawing.
