Banach III 203. Sarcophagus of Casimir the Great in the Cracow Cathedral. Sheet from the album "Cracow Cathedral at Wawel", prepared by Franciszek Stroobant in 1857-1858 and published with an explanatory text by Ludwik Lêtowski in 1859. The engraving was lithographed by Stroobant himself in a graphic workshop in Brussels, with overprints "F. Stroobant del. et lith." and "Kraków. Nakł. Lithografia ,Czasu'" (signatures under the composition). The full series contained seventeen engravings. The "Cathedral" panels "are the only set of views of the cathedral from the 19th century recorded in artistic graphics" (Banach III, vol. 1, p. 34). Other details as above. Stamp. on reverse. Slight soiling of margins, good condition overall.
