The work is described in the catalog of Józef Mehoffer's group exhibition from the National Museum in Kraków, 1964, item 290.
The work is a study for a stained glass window realized in Opava (Czech Republic) in the Grauer family burial chapel. In the chapel, Mehoffer placed four stained glass windows "Dormition of Mary," "At the Tomb of Christ," "Soul at the Gates of Paradise" (for which he made the presented study) and "Caritas." The cardboards for these stained glass windows are in the collections of the National Museum in Cracow and the National Museum in Warsaw.
