W. Jańczak (1912-1985), studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He received his diploma in the studio of Fryderyk Pautsch in 1947. The artist practiced a variety of techniques: printmaking, easel painting and color monotype, polychrome. He also designed stained glass windows and church interior decorations: woodcuts, mosaics. He has been making ex-librises (metal techniques and woodcuts) since 1965, with over 100 to his credit, and has exhibited them at numerous ex-libris exhibitions in Poland (including the Fourth International Biennial of Contemporary Ex-libris, Malbork, 1969) and abroad. He has participated several times in the Biennale of Graphics in Cracow (1962, 1964, 1966). His works are in the Collections of the Ministry of Culture and Art, the Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, the Museum of the Polish Army, the Rzeszow Gallery of Contemporary Painting, Graphics and Sculpture, the District Museum in Czestochowa, the Castle Museum in Malbork. 9735/8
