crayon/paper, 24x20.5 cm, p.d. stamp: from e collection of F. Ścibałło ; on the reverse in pencil confirmation of origin: Jan Stanislawski Card from sketchbook/ from the collection after Feliks Ścibałło, from his wife / Jadwiga Ścibałło, gift for Christmas 1994 / T. .. achinger Kraków 25.12.1994 / (Self-portrait of Stanislawski?); on the binding sticker card with the number: 287.
It is necessary to give a question mark next to the author's name; however, it is worth noting that Feliks Sciballa (1903-1976), a native of Lviv by birth, a resident of Krakow by choice (fate?), a well-known custodian, weapons expert and collector of weapons, had interesting collections. The portrait above, in the manner of drawing and the crayons used, corresponds to the artist's sketchbooks in the MNK collection. The drawing was purchased at auction at a Krakow auction house specializing in prints and drawings, which did not question the authorship. It labeled the work as "a great rarity on the antiquarian market," which, given the scarcity of images by the master Stanislawski, should be strongly agreed with.
