Studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of M Kopernik University in Toruń.
During the period of his studies, from March 1980 he was closely associated with the editorial board of "Free Word"- Bulletin of the Board of the Region of the NSZZ "Solidarity", in which he published drawings and co-created the graphic side.
In 1984, he was a member of the Independent Art Movement in Toruń. He took part in the exhibition "Memory and Witness," organized in the Meeting Room of the Fr. Redemptorists in Toruń and dedicated to the martyrdom of Father Jerzy Popieluszko. During the 1984-1985 academic year, he was expelled from the university.
From September 1989, as a graphic designer and journalist, he was on the editorial team of the reactivated weekly "Free Word."
