Views of Warsaw.

Warsaw 1852, published by Julisz Schmidt. At the lithographic establishment of Alfred Leon Lemercier in Paris. Lithographed by Louis Julien Jacottet and Charles Riviere. Drawings for the lithographs were provided by Wojciech Gerson and Adam Lerue. Signed by J. Jacottet et C. Riviere lith. Dimensions: 23 x 17 cm, frontispiece in black and white in lithography, 20 color lithographs on separate plates (plates interleaved with tissue guards), bound in period fl. A beautiful album including 20 color lithographs depicting the most interesting places and buildings of Warsaw:

Wojciech Gerson (1831-1901), painter, landscape painter, representative of realism, art historian, translator and educator, honorary member of the Society of the Polish National Museum in Rapperswil. Adam Lerue (1825-1863), Polish illustrator, painter and lithographer of French origin.
Traces of non-moisture, binding: black cloth with gilt inscription on the face: "Vues de Varosovie", blind ornamental embossing. Binding with abrasions, detail of spine and corners.Condition more like good. Very rare.
