Fajlhauer[Feilhauer] Henryk (1942-1999) Polish painter, printmaker and medalist, one of the most prominent European creators of exlibris and small graphic forms. He studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of M.Copernicus University in Torun, under the direction of, among others, professors Jerzy Hoppen and Wojciech Jakubowski. He completed his studies in 1965, initially working as a teacher in Czluchow, and from 1971 as a visual artist in Gdynia Shipyard. In 1988 he moved to Bad Salzdethfurt in the Harz mountains. He created mainly copperplates, and also developed his own method of mezzotint. Winner of numerous awards and prizes, the artist himself was also a juror at exlibris competitions (Malbork, Ostrów ).
