Elżbieta Janusz - born October 22, 1998 in Bielsko-Biała. Graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun at the Department of Printmaking. She completed her diploma in intaglio printing techniques under the title "Fading"
and defended in the intaglio studio under Prof. Marek Zajko in 2023. She won 3rd place at the printmaking review of The 12th Kochi International Triennial Exhibition of Prints in Japan.
The main inspiration of the artist's work is people, specifically portraits - stories that can be read in them. Often she does not focus on depicting specific people; they are only a starting point. Based on photographs, she creates hand-drawn sketches, which are a synthesis of physical features and emotions that interest her. In this way, mask images are created to depict: indifference or anger, sadness or melancholy. The representations are so ambiguous that each viewer can perceive them in their own individual way.
