Woodcut on ark. 14.2x10.4 cm. A monk painting a picture. Composition by Stanislaw Jakubowski, 1924, signed on the woodblock with the artist's ideographic mark. Very good condition.
E. Majkowski (1892-1951) - Catholic clergyman, founder of the Archdiocesan Archive in Poznan, expert and collector of exlibrises. He bequeathed part of his 3,000-strong book collection to the library of the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) and the PAU in Cracow. The book collection contained mainly works on history and auxiliary sciences of history. After the war he was associated with Kórnik.
