Autolithography; dimensions: 355 x 275 mm; signed in relief p.d.: Fig. Sobieslaw. Framed work.
Sheet from "Teki Melpomeny", published in Cracow in 1904 by the Lithographic Department of A. Pruszyński. The portfolio was created on the initiative of Stanislaw Rzecki as a joint work of several artists who took up subjects related to the exuberant life of the Cracow theater of the time. The artists: Karol Frycz, Stanislaw Kuczborski, Stanislaw Rzecki, and Witold Wojtkiewicz made lithographic boards showing caricatures of the most prominent Krakow actors in their characteristic roles. The caricatures were sold to support the actors' pension fund. This piece of artwork comes from the collection of Jan Sas-Zubrzycki (1860-1935) - architect, architectural theorist and art restorer.
