Konstanty Brandel - born April 10, 1880 in Warsaw - died December 7, 1970 in Paris - Polish painter and graphic artist. He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Leon Wyczółkowski and Józef Mehoffer. He continued his studies in Italy and from 1907 in France, where he remained until the end of his life. A member of the Societe nationale des beaux-arts, from 1929 of the Societe du Salon d'Automne. In 1933 he joined the Trade Union of Polish Artists in Cracow, and in 1956 the Polish Artists in France. Honorary president of the Association of Polish Graphic Artists. Creator of many paintings and prints: Monk, Death of Apollo, Reunion of Mermaids on the Vistula River. He had about 170 solo exhibitions during his lifetime. Brandl's archive is partly in the Polish Library in Paris and in the Emigration Archive in Torun.
