The work "1917-2017" is an appendix to the work "Spirit"
"To notice something, you have to change it - then what is not there and what was is made visible. The city becomes the background, and monuments become part of its landscape. Monuments of the past become such "urban ghosts," figures that are resurrected once in a while, usually to serve various political purposes. Dismantling, restoring or relocating them all awaken other forces. But only changing the material, giving it new or original characteristics, can tell us something else. Bronze and stone become fabric again, and the body disappears, leaving behind a void clothed in shape. The essence is not the dismantling of the old, or talking to ghosts, but rather talking about the silence of the void. And for me, this silence seems very loud." Ala Savashevich
