Jonasz Stern (1904 - 1988) painter, printmaker and draughtsman, co-founder of both the First and Second Cracow Groups; lecturer; moved from Cubism and Surrealism to geometric abstraction; his entire post-war oeuvre was dominated by traumatic occupation experiences; created paint-covered, glass-covered compositions of fabrics, pieces of net, feathers, skins, fish skeletons.
