Linocut and spruce bark print 40.5x30cm (print area 24.5x17.5 cm) print 1/5, 2018 my price: 250 zloty The work comes from a series of prints that harmoniously combine two orders: naturocentric and anthropocentric. Each composition contains forms from both orders. The naturocentric order is represented by a pattern derived from spruce bark made by insects, while the anthropocentric order focuses on the representation of the human figure made by me. The pattern reflected from the bark is a record of part of the life of the insects that laid their eggs under the bark of the tree, an image of the larva's journey from hatching to maturity, to the point where it bit through the bark and flew out as an adult. Insects bore corridors in the bark to create intriguing organic patterns. The bark was collected by me in the Bialowieza Forest, coming from spruce trees felled there in the summer of 2017.
