BERLEWI | VERSAILLES.
In 1923, Henryk Berlewi developed the theory of "Mechanofaktura," which
assumed the rejection of the illusion of space in favor of rhythmic, two-dimensional
planes. Following in the footsteps of representatives of Dutch neoplasticism
Piet Mondrian, among others, and artists described as
Constructivists, whose representative was, among others, Kazimir Malevich
decided that the composition of a painting should be built on the basis of
on basic geometric figures and three colors: black, white and red.
At the same time, he assumed a mechanical selection of the figures used in the painting.
Henryk Berlewi wanted to emphasize the rapidly advancing development of technology and
use it in the visual arts. In 1925, he founded the Bureau of Advertising-
Mechano using the method he developed for the construction of
compositions.
