Church of the Blessed Nicholas Czarne cki and the New Martyrs of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (formerly St. Joseph's Church - a historic Greek Catholic parish church (formerly a Roman Catholic castle and parish church) in Podhorce (now a village in the Brody region of the Lviv region of Ukraine). Dedicated to the memory of Nicholas Czarnecki, blessed of the Catholic Church, a Redemptorist. The temple was built thanks to the funds of Podhorce owner Waclaw Piotr Rzewuski and with his personal participation. The church was consecrated in May 1766 and initially served as a castle temple.Since 1861 it has been a parish church (the parish at that time included the villages of Khwatov, Hucisko Oleskie, Jasion, Majdan Pieniacki, Zahorce and Zharkiv). Marcin Twardowski, known as the "Mikuliniec woodcarver," made carpentry and woodcarving decor for the church in 1761-1765: a crucifix, pilaster capitals, tabernacle, pews, picture frames, candlesticks, a balcony encircling the interior, confessionals, a pulpit with rocaille ornament. Lukas Smuglevicz and his son Anthony painted the lot near the main altar in 1765-1766 (Wikipedia).
