The portrait of the sitter is taken almost full-length against a background of painted decoration. She is dressed in a dress with buff sleeves, richly embroidered neckline and collar. In her left hand she holds a fan. In the lower margin print: "Mazur in Lviv, 5 Panska Street". Photo pasted on original cardboard backing with silvered edges. On the back an advertising vignette with award medals and overprint: "D. Mazur in Lvov Panska St. L.5" . Perfect condition.
D. Mazur - owner of photographic works in Lviv. In the years 1887-1905 the establishment at 5 Panska Street (the previous owner of the establishment was Piotr Mieczkowski). He began his photographic career in 1882 in partnership with Karol Roszkiewicz. His works were characterized by fidelity and professionalism in execution. From 1894 he was among the first photographers in the country. His clientele included respectable citizens of the city of Lviv, bourgeois and noble families. At the turn of 1909 and 1910, enjoying great recognition and a good reputation among both his clientele and his professional colleagues, he was elected head of the Photographers' Committee - the first organization of professional photographers in Lviv.
