[NIKIFOR - artist with notebook - situational photograph]. [l. 1960s]. Photograph form. 49x47 cm, by[Leszek Dziedzic].
Nikifor with notebook in hand sits under a tree. Dressed in a trench coat and a hat on his head. Photo without photographer's stamp. Print glued on thick cardboard, probably prepared for exhibition. Two holes in the upper margin, corners and edges slightly rubbed, otherwise good condition.
Nikifor Krynicki (1895-1968) - Lemko painter working in Krynica, the most highly regarded Polish primitivist, whose paintings were exhibited by museums and galleries in Amsterdam, Brussels, Haifa, Frankfurt n. Main and Hannover.
L. Dziedzic (1931-2010) - artist photographer. Actual member of the Union of Polish Artists Photographers. Popularizer of the history and monuments of the city of Cracow. Leszek Dziedzic graduated from St. Jacek's Gymnasium and the State Industrial School in Cracow. Associated with the photographic community of Malopolska and Swietokrzyskie, he lived and worked in Cracow - he has been photographing since 1943. In 1968 he received a master's degree in the profession of photographer. Between 1977 and 1992, he was the initiator and co-organizer of a cyclic photographic competition, whose premise was to photograph the monuments and lives of the inhabitants of the city of Cracow - Save from oblivion. A special place in his work was occupied by architectural photography (to a large extent photography of the monuments of Krakow), reportage photography (among other things, concerning Krakow and its inhabitants), landscape photography and theater photography - since 1983 he made a photographic documentation of the theatrical activity of Tadeusz Kantor (photos from theater performances, portraits of actors and photos taken behind the scenes. Leszek Dziedzic is the author and co-author of many photographic exhibitions; individual and collective. On November 5, 1978, he was accepted as a real member of the Cracow District of the Union of Polish Art Photographers; later he transferred his membership to the Swietokrzyskie District of the ZPAF. For his photographic works and activities for the benefit of photography he was awarded the Prize of the City of Cracow - in the field of culture. Leszek Dziedzic died on August 17, 2010, buried on August 24 at the Rakowicki Cemetery in Cracow. (Wikipedia).
