Jan Stanislaw Matuszek - born 22.11.1892 in Cracow, died 1940 ZZSR - lieutenant colonel of the Polish Army infantry, victim of the Katyn massacre. He participated in World War I as an officer in the Austrian army, in 1920 in the Polish-Bolshevik war. During the September campaign, he was deputy commander of the Supply Center of the 24th Infantry Division, and from September 9 he was deputy commander of the defense of Przemysl and commander of the OZ combat regiment of the 24th DP, commander of the advanced line of resistance in Zasan. From September 14, after the departure of Gen. J. Chmurowicz, he commanded the defense of the city. Taken into Soviet captivity, he ended up in the Kozelsk camp. In 1940 he was murdered by the NKVD (according to Wikipedia).
