[KRAKOW - view of Wawel Castle from west side view photograph - cabinet format shot]. [not before 1895, not after 1898/1900]. Photograph form. 9.5x14.6 cm on original backing form. 10.7x16.1 cm, made at Diezel & Langer in Vienna.
Depicts a view of Wawel Castle from the west, from the Vistula River where barges are moored. In the depth from the side, visible is the Dębnicki promontory with inie existing buildings today. On the left margin of the backing print: "Krakau, Schloss mit Weichsel", on the right "6843. Kraków, Wawel from the side of the Vistula River". Photo pasted on original cardboard backing with red border. Imprint on the back: "Diezel & Langer Papier-Niederlage Schreib-und Papierwaren-Handlung Fotografien-und Landkarten-Lager Wien, 4. Bez., Favoritenstrasse 54". Good condition.
