J. Kordysz, also as Joseph Kordysch, Russian: Иосиф Кордыш (1824-1896) - Polish photographer active in Kamieniec Podolski and Kiev. He bore the title "photographer of St. Vladimir's University." It is not known where and from whom he learned photography. He ran his first establishment in Kamieniec Podolsk, which - after Kordysh moved to Kiev in the 2nd half of the 1960s - served as a branch for some time. It was run by Vladimir Zagorski, and when that studio ran into financial problems, it was bought back by Michal Greim in 1871. In 1875 Kordysz moved the Kiev establishment to a new address, on Kreshchatyk Street, but already in the same year he wrote to Greim: someone else will take the photographs - I intend to sell necessarily, because I cannot continue this business myself. During the Russo-Turkish War in 1878, he stayed in Ruszczuk as a photographer, briefly entering into partnership with Karol Józef Migurski. In 1880, Zagorski took over the establishment, henceforth running it under his own name, and Kordysz himself moved. In 1890, according to his letter to Greim, he opened an establishment in Kiev in the premises of another photographer, Vladimir Vysotsky, but it soon collapsed (Wikipedia).
